I'm currently finishing up the k-drama Flower Boy Ramyun Shop.
It has 16 episodes and the last episode finished airing this week (yesterday).
And I'm still waiting for the last episode to be subbed before I finish the series. :)
The great thing about this drama is that it's actually unpredictable.
I mean, there are lots of those romantic comedies these days that are kinda similar to Boys Over Flowers with one girl surrounded by all these pretty boys. However this series has yet to piss me off or make me find any of the characters annoyingly mopey. Well, I did think the main female char was really really embarrassing in the beginning, but she had a change of character really fast. XD Anyways, this series is worth checking out because there are plenty of hilarious moments as well as times when your heart melts. Something like that.. or it's just me.. Actually, instead of getting annoyed at a mopey char, I'm really annoyed with the actress of So Yi. I find her unable to act.. Idk who she is, but I can't stand her acting.... next!
A drama I've been following since it first started is High Kick Through the Roof 3: Revenge of the Short-Legged. As of now, I'm not sure what the title has to do with the series, but anyways! This show is hilarious. There are lots of character developments (well it has to since there are 120 episodes contracted), and every few episodes gives a chance for the different characters to have their life and stories be told. This sitcom runs about 25 minutes each episode, so it's fairly short. Each episode has a highlight, though, so there are always funny parts. There's one problem I've experienced while watching this series though, and that's the bad English subs. Some of the episodes online will have random, babbling subs that don't make sense when you try reading them. So there's no use to waste time, you'll get the gist though. The cast that star in this sitcom is also pretty notable. I'm not sure of every actor and actresses' names, but I think everyone is really good at acting. so much better than this one char from Ramyun Shop... (So Yi's actress really bugs me...) f(x)'s Krystal is also in this drama as the bratty and hot-tempered daughter of the main family. I'm really loving actress Park Ha Sun who plays the role of a kinda self-conscious high school teacher. However, In real life, she's a bold and fun person. I've seen her on shows and she seems like a really admirable person. Lastly, Lee Jong Suk plays the role of the lonewolf, stubborn older brother to Krystal and son of the main family. Ok I lied: Lastly, Kang Seung Yoon... contestant from one of the tons of music shows lately.. he's in this sitcom as a rich but pretty stupid guy. Love him. He's adorable with that accent~ The sitcom has tons of characters and it shows how everyone comes to know one another early on in the show. Worth watching when you want a good laugh. Little info: Each season of High Kick has a different storyline and cast. I haven't seen the previous seasons, but they were successful enough to be continued like this. To me, though, High Kick 3 is a must watch.
A J-drama I've currently been watching, and am just watching for the last few episodes to be subbed, is Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de which translates to (Save the Revealing for After Dinner(?) or somewhere around there. It stars Kitagawa Keiko (Sailor Mars, if you don't know her) and Sakurai Sho (Arashi). I've always been a fan of Kitagawa Keiko and I've some of her other works. I've never paid any attention to Sakurai Sho's discog, though, but the only thing I've seen where he starred in was the live action movie adaptation of Honey and Clover. I dunno, I didn't think he was cute or anything. However, in this drama, there are closeups of his face, and this is when I appreciated that he had a baby face, somewhat. This is a mystery genre drama and has some comedic parts in it, though most of it seems to be inside jokes. It's a high rating drama because it is the live action/based off of a popular detective novel. I'm so into detective stuff that I'm wanting to watch that Raven movie that'll come out next year.. even though it's gorey.

K-Songs
I'm new to blogspot/tumblr..
I've stopped using a blog since xanga 2009..
This is still confusing for me to use/edit..
Anyways:
Some nice (mainly idol) songs that came out in the past few months to listen to:
(In no particular order)
Secret - Love is Move
Secret is a vocally stable and strong group of four members that debuted last year.
This sounds like a great beach song, especially with the guitar riffs.
The choreo is also very cute. I really like the move that comes at the end of the first verse.
Leader Hyosung had a falling accident so needs about 1-2 months of rest. The other three members have been continuing the promotions for Love is Move just fine. Although it is clear that someone feels missing while watching the three of them perform.

AA - So Crazy/ Because I'm Crazy
This is AA's debut song. Debuting just a few months ago, they're kinda hyped because the leader Aoora composed this song. The group's company gave this group a lot of freedom in managing their own songs, choreo, and even their own schedules. A lot of netizens thought the song's choreo was really feminine and reminded them of being choreo that belonged to girl groups. Aoora was also the center of attention for doing his body waves really strongly, thus, being called gay. But that only makes him more attractive right? Lol~ For all I care, this song and music video is really addictive. My fave part of the choreo is when they say " naega michyeo michyeo michyeo etc" and are going down into a somewhat kneeling stance and do a body wave, just wow~ That choreo made me love the song. (the michyeo times 3 one). Lol!

IU debuted in 2008 with Missing Child (Mia in Korean), a really great ballad. I've pretty much watched her career grow since late 2008. She finally became a household name, and "Korea's younger sister" earlier this year with the release of Good Day and the three high notes that shot her fame up. This time she made her comeback with You and I and it's her strongest track so far. Her whole 2nd album delivers the atmosphere and message across, being a work of art pretty much. You and I is also my fave song of hers because the music video and lyrics really match well together. The whole thing is just cute and I'm really into the 19th century esqe setting that they like going for, both in Good Day and this one. IU skipped out on college by wanting to release better music, which I believe she succeeded in this time around. Her popularity can easily tie or beat SNSD's. She's currently winning many awards on music shows lately.

San E - I Want You To Be Unhappy ft. Bee of Rphabet
San E is a solo rapper artist from JYP Entertainment and debuted last year. He was already an underground rapper before joining JYPE. I really like San E's rapping in this song. He expresses his rap angrily while another singer named Bee sings the chorus very nicely with a clear raspy voice. San E has a few swear lyrics here and there, and they're to express his anger at an ex girlfriend in this song. I also really like the music. There's no mv for this song because San E isn't promoting this actively.

Trouble Maker - Trouble Maker
Trouble Maker is a duo that comprises of B2ST's lead vocalist Hyunseung and 4minute's main dancer and lead rapper Hyuna. It's a project group that Cube Entertainment made just for the fans. Trouble Maker acts as a sexy couple and have been gaining lots of love from fans. There are some that say they don't have chemistry on stage though. Well, they're kinda right. For the choreo, these two have to act pretty intimate with each other, so intimate, that I'm always laughing inside my head whenever I watch their performances, but I do enjoy watching them and support the two :). It's just that, I think Hyunseung's so used to portraying a sad sap for B2ST's usual sad and mopey songs that they've been releasing lately, that he's put on somewhat of a poker face. He does smile sometimes, but those are pretty rare. It's funny but, I think he always starts out the performances with a poker face, and it isn't until mid way that he realizes he's having fun and then smiles. Hah.. Hyuna on the other hand, is the queen of sexiness nowadays. She's very good at looking the look and dancing the dance of a, well, Femme Fatale. She smiles at the appropriate times during the performances, and she looks stunning. The one and only slack (ok besides being called a slut by antis) that she always receives, however, is that she can't sing. Well that's kinda true sometimes. but I can honestly say that I think she's shown a side of herself that wasn't shown before. From this mini album that was released, she has singing lines, and although she's not that great with voice control, she's actually singing. The songs are nice in my opinion and I had all the songs on repeat for days. One out of the five tracks is a solo by Hyunseung though. xD TBH he is my fave member of B2ST... Always thought he was cute, and love his unique voice. This isn't that important, but he was the eliminated trainee to be a member of Big Bang back then. His hard work paid off when he finally debuted with B2ST back in 2009. Same with Hyuna leaving WG in 2007 and debuting with 4minute in 2009.

Boyfriend - I'll Be There
Boyfriend's 3rd single. I don't have much to say aside from these gorgeously cute masculine boys consistently dancing insync and having stable live singing. They debuted this year and are one of the top rookie groups of the year. This is the group with the popular Jo Twins, whom every fangirl or boy of Ouran High School Host Club would love to have play the roles of Hikaru and Kaoru, were there to ever be a Korean version of the live action drama. Yes, my vote is with them.

Super Junior's Donghae and Eunhyuk - Oppa, Oppa
Or as fans call them, EunHae. This duo project group recently debuted with two songs off the single album. Both songs are nice. Oppa, Oppa is retro and addictive while First Love is a ballad that sounds right out of a drama OST. The choreo for Oppa, Oppa is fun loving too. Lots of wide arm movements and wide running. Lots of side-burn touchings. And the two are kinda intimate during the dance break.

Chocolat - I Like It
Chocolat debuted this year with a trendy, electropop song called Syndrome. Some of the members could barely sing it live, however, since it was an auto-tune song that they had to match their voices with. They received negative criticisms for some of the members not singing live well with having so much hype. Oh right, the hype is that this group has three out of five members that are biracial (half Caucasian and half Korean). They're all really young too and their parents were friends who got the three of them to become a part of a girl group. I Like It is their comeback song and only four of the original five members are promoting it. At first I thought the other member left the group, however, I recently heard that she has health problems and thus is not participating for this promotion. Anyways, this song is really addictive. It makes you want to throw your fist into the air along with the girls during the chorus. Yeah the fist pump is in their choreo. The choreo is really nice too. It's simple and really makes this song sound like a club song. I hear a western familiarity in this song. It's because this is yet another electropop song, but it has a stronger feeling than their debut song. From their first mini album, there is the Korean version, English version, and a three other tracks. I honestly prefer their live stages more than the studio recordings because there is too much auto-tune in the original recordings. The English song's lyrics really lets you know what the song is about and I'm really impressed by their strong vocals and leader Soa's English pronunciations both from the English version and her rap in the Korean version. The next track I'm going to review is their 5th track which sounds the most intriguing out of the other two new tracks. The name is in Korean so I'm just going to refer to it as track 5. Track 5 is the only soft song on this mini album, and I feel like I'm hearing their potential pouring out. I'm really anticipating this group and their future releases. For being hyped to be biracial is not the only interesting thing about this group. All the members really do have strong voices. Although, the same girl is the one that can't project loudly during lives, however you can still tell that her voice is deep and full.
They don't have a music video for this song, sadly, but here's one of my fave live performances of this song because this new music channel has new and clear mics and there are no background dancers clouding the stage.. teehee.

Brown Eyed Girls - Cleansing Cream
Beaufiful song, vocals, lyrics, this song adds to the collection of BEG's music that always has some kind of hidden interpretation or metaphor in them. Honestly, I thought this mv was pretty scary when I first watched it because I thought the young girl drowned. Anyways, I strongly suggest anyone who wants a review of this music video to watch EatYourKimchi's music monday review of this song.Check out the mv Here. (Eng subs provided)

Wonder Girls - Be My Baby
(and pretty much the whole album has nice songs so check that out too)
Wonder Girls made their comeback in Nov. with Be My Baby off their 2nd full album.
Let me say, I think this is the best album this year (and it's not just my bias talking). Their songs have an influence of both western meets eastern styles. And any avid fan or follower of the Wonder Girls can say that their vocals and style have improved so much since 2009, when they left for NY. Other notable songs to check out from this album are Me, In (a remake song), G.N.O. (Girls Night Out), Stop, Girls Girls, and the duet Dugeo Dugeo by Yeeun and Sunye. All the songs are great, but these listed are my fave that I've had on repeat more than the rest. There's also one English track on this album titled Nu Shoes, and I think the lyrics are cute and funny. "Sometimes I really wish I had four feet, so that I can dance with myself to the drum beats" ahaha. Be My Baby was also recently unveiled to be the number 1 most watched music video on Youtube by domestic citizens in Korea. The choreo is really cute and dancable. There are many dance covers due to a dance cover contest that was announced in Nov. as well as the fun and easy to follow choreo in general.

T-ara - Cry Cry
The song sounds great and typical of T-ara's usual followup songs. I would say that the choreo is what makes this song lovable. There are two versions of the music video. The first version is the drama version that runs about 15 minutes. It's a predictable mini drama. The second version is the dance version and the editing is a bit fast and annoying. Well to save time, this version is the one I linked.

A Pink - My My
This is the 3rd single of A Pink who debuted earlier this year from A Cube Entertainment, a sub-label of Cube Entertainment that houses 4minute, B2ST, G.NA, and Superstar K2 winner Huh Gak. A Pink is pretty much one of the top nominees of the rookie female group award for this year. They're known to be a natural and sweet group that focuses on the genre of 90's pop music. All their songs so far have been popular with the current and older generations, thus where their popularity comes from. This song is my fave out of the three that they have promoted thus far.
